A Van Zanten comic for the economist magazine ESB, going with an article about costs and quality of healthcare. My translation: 1) I’m on my way to the hospital! I have cut my finger! 2) Of course I know it would be cheaper if I went to my family doctor. But I want tailor-made care. 3) I am scared to death of doctors! 4) The hospital is the only place where they stick a plaster under general anaestesia.
Only a day after I submitted my comic, there was a big article in the newspaper about dental clinics where they treat patients under general anaestesia for simple treatments like fillings, because these patients are so scared of dentists. GRRR!
GRRR!
