Samen met Urban Sketchers Betuwe tekende ik afgelopen zaterdag bij Visscher Classique, een prachtig automuseum in Buren. Ondanks dat het dichtbij is voor mij, was ik er nog niet eerder geweest. Een indrukwekkende verzameling voornamelijk Franse auto’s, maar het museum biedt ook ruimte aan autoclubs – hierboven zie je een schets van een BMW 319 Dranz Cabrioler uit 1936. Eén van de kleinste en snelste schetsjes die ik maakte, maar misschien wel de beste van afgelopen zaterdag.
Last Saturday, I sketched together with Urban Sketchers Betuwe at Visscher Classique, a wonderful car museum in Buren. Although it’s close to me, I’d never been there before. It’s an impressive collection of primarily French cars, but the museum also hosts car clubs—above, you see a sketch of a 1936 BMW 319 Dranz Cabriolet. One of the smallest and fastest sketches I made, but perhaps the best one from last Saturday.
Dit is een Opel Olympia uit 1952. De eigenaar van het museum gaf als commentaar bij deze tekening: ‘Precies genoeg om de auto te herkennen, maar onnauwkeurig genoeg dat de foutjes niet opvallen.’ Ik zie het als een compliment.
This is a 1952 Opel Olympia. The museum owner commented on this drawing: “Precise enough to recognize the car, but inaccurate enough that the errors aren’t noticeable.” I consider it a compliment.
Dit is een Datsun 240Z uit 1972. Hier ging tijdens het tekenen iets mis met de verhoudingen van de auto, maar hij ziet er op mijn schets nog sneller uit dan in het echt. Een leuk museum de moeite waard om nog eens terug te gaan!
