The second week of our holiday in Austria, we stayed in Graz. In short: I loved it. Above you see the Hauptplatz (where we had our appartment) – it is clear that Graz is a very colourful city.
This baroque house on the Hauptplatz was so extremely decorated that it is almost impossible to draw. Which was the very reason I attacked it the first day we stayed in Graz – just to have done it.
The entrance of the Landeszeughaus. Behind these doors, there is a spectacular collection of old weaponry. The old armoury was conserved and you walk among thousands of harnesses, helmets, spears and swords, guns and pistols.
A passage through the Landeszeughaus. Graz has many smaller en larger passages, leading you to unexpected inner courts with cafés and shops.
I like these narrow streets where roof gutters almost touch. I made many more drawings in lovely Graz – please take a look here. Next stop: Vienna.
Volgende halte: Wenen.
