Dit is wagen 1 van Luchtspiegeling – de corsowagens van Corsoclub Culemborg. Afgelopen weekend wonnen ze zowel de 1e Prijs (Lof van de Jury) als de Publieksprijs. Ik was de afgelopen maanden te gast bij de Corsoclub om het bouwproces vast te leggen in tekeningen. Toen ik afgelopen vrijdag naar huis ging, waren de wagens nog niet klaar, en in het weekend stond ik op de Kunstroute Culemborg. De tekening hierboven maakte ik dus vandaag in Tiel, waar de wagens stonden opgetseld aan de Waalkade. De kleuren sprankelden in de volle zon!
This is float 1 of Mirage – the floats of the Culemborg Corso Club. Last weekend, they won both the 1st Prize (Jury Praise) and the Public Award. I’ve been a guest at the Corso Club for the past few months to document the construction process in drawings. When I went home last Friday, the floats weren’t finished yet, and over the weekend I was at the Culemborg Art Route. So, I made the drawing above today in Tiel, where the floats were displayed on the Waalkade. The colors sparkled in the bright sunshine!
Wagen 2: het rotsblok met daaronder de op zijn kop hangende stad, de luchtspiegeling. Helaas mocht het rotsblok om veiligheidsredenen niet op zijn hoogste punt worden getild, waardoor hij toch een beetje een fata morgana zal blijven
Float 2: the rock formation with the upside-down city hanging below it, the mirage. Unfortunately, for safety reasons, the rock couldn’t be lifted to its highest point, so it will remain a bit of a fata morgana.
Ik maakte de afgelopen maanden meer dan 100 tekeningen van het bouwproces van Luchtspiegeling. Ze zullen worden gebundeld in een boek. Het is nu te bestellen, het doel is om het boek eind november/begin december bij je te kunnen bezorgen. Hier kun je het boek bestellen. Van elk verkocht boek gaat 5 euro naar Corsoclub Culemborg.
Over the past few months, I made over 100 drawings of the construction process of Mirage. They will be compiled into a book. It’s available for order now, and we aim to have it delivered to you by the end of November/beginning of December. You can order the book here.
