In de rijke landen zijn ontwikkelingshulp en internationale solidariteit geen populaire onderwerpen. Met alle gevolgen van dien voor mensen in de armste landen.

Deze tekening maakte ik bij het onderwerp ‘bestaanszekerheid’. Te vaak bepaalt waar je wieg heeft gestaan of je het later financieel redt en gezond oud wordt. Het was een hoofdthema bij de vorige verkiezingen, maar we kregen een regering die er voor zo ver ik weet niet veel werk van heeft gemaakt. We krijgen in oktober een herkansing.
I made this drawing on the subject of ‘security of existence’. Where your cradle stood too often determines whether you will make it financially later and grow old healthily. It was a main theme in the previous elections, but we got a government that, as far as I know, did not put much effort into it. We will get a second chance in October.
