Last Friday, I taught some drawing lessons at a primary school, ‘De Flambouw’. The children worked with enthusiasm and concentration – and they had fun. With the pupils of groups 3-4 (6-8 years) I played a game drawing monsters. Some of the children drew cute little monsters, others turned out to be quite bloodthirsty… In groups 5-6 (8-10 years) we drew comic characters: the meanest character possible, the happiest character possible and many more. In groups 7-8 (10-12 years) we did a life drawing class. Pupils themselves were models and artists, struggling with the poses and the time limits (long for models, short for artists). I had also a lot of fun myself and learnt al lot – I hope to do these kind of activities more often in the future. Thanks to all pupils and teachers of ‘De Flambouw’!
